Wee Music Makers

Wee Music Makers: Mrs Alison Baxter, Associate Conductor

This is a beginning choral experience for children who are in P2.

In our weekly rehearsals, as well as learning and practising songs for concerts, children play singing games and participate in fun warm up activities which are chosen to help develop their singing voice. Through all of the activities children develop their singing, learn about music, musical performance and about being a member of a choir.

This is generally a smaller group and the activities are tailored to suit the children in the group so that they have a positive and meaningful experience.

At this stage, children progress towards reading a simple melodic line with words, so that, although they are often learning by rote, they are being gently introduced to music.

Rehearsals are on Tuesdays from 4:15 – 5pm in the Music Institute next to Carnegie Hall.
